Located in downtown Summerland in Memorial Park, our cenotpah honours the fallen of both World Wars and Korea.
The names of the servicemen and women who paid the ultimate price are listed on the north side facing town. When the population of Summerland was less than 250 in 1914, the 36 men and one female nurse named on the cenotaph perished in Europe. Several others are not named, the reasons for this remain unclear.
In the Second World War, 24 did not return from a population of less than 500.
